Chevron conveyor belts perform a wide range of conveyor duties across many sectors. These conveyor belts contain rubber cleats that are vulcanized to the belt’s top cover. These profiles are constructed using extremely abrasion-resistant rubber types and are available in gentler compounds (45 to 50 Shore hardness) as well as 60 Shore materials. The profiles are designed in such a way that they do not require special idlers and may be used on standard conveyors. The pitch between the two cleats provides a smooth ride across return idlers.
Characteristics of Chevron Conveyor Belts
Belt Width
Depending on the profile, chevron belts range in width from 600 mm to 1800 mm.
Edges
Chevron conveyor belts are often supplied with clipped edges. However, belts with molded edges can also be provided.
Patterned Conveyor Belt
Available in a variety of patterned conveyor belts, including wavy-top and herringbone designs, with open ends or infinite alternatives.
Chevron Conveyor Belt Features:
The greatest angle of inclination with a flat belt is around 15-20°. However, a chevron belt allows for an inclination of up to 40 degrees. In reality, the majority of the force is concentrated on the bottom foundation belt. While the surface design merely functions as a skid-resistant barrier for transporting items. So a high angle inclination requires less room to achieve the appropriate carrying height.
- It is excellent for transferring materials with an incline of 0-40° to prevent them from collapsing.
- Profiled cleats are hot vulcanized to base belts. We create the cleats in a flexible and wear-resistant black rubber.
- Full-width cleats for any width, height, and size.
- Available in open-ended or limitless forms, all grades and sizes.
Chevron conveyor belts are designed to give a strong grip and avoid slippage when transporting large loads. The chevron pattern’s height and angle might change based on the application’s individual requirements.
There are two commonly used chevron conveyor belt patterns:
Open V type: The open V-shaped chevron design makes it ideal for hauling lighter items that tend to slide, such as wood chips or small gravel.
Closed V type: The closed V type chevron design is ideal for conveying heavy items to slide, such as sand or coal.
The type of chevron pattern used is determined by the material being conveyed and the conveyor’s angle of inclination.
Chevron Conveyor Belts in Mining and Heavy Industries
Chevron Pattern Conveyor Belts are suitable for many sectors, including grain processing, sugar refineries, agriculture, cement operations, sand-rock mining, quarrying, mineral processing, mobile crushers, and screens for steep inclines. Cleated belts may also carry more granular materials in heavy-duty incline situations.
The profile’s functioning is affected by two variables: the inclination angle and the materials delivered. These profiles are intended to avoid or decrease slide back while increasing the volume of goods transported swiftly at the point of loading.
